Killzone 3 officially announced- 3D confirmed [update] on Wed May 26, 2010 10:05 am
Update
CVG claims that one of their sources has confirmed that Killzone 3 will be released in May 2011.
Original
Just a day after leaked images of Killzone 3 showed up online. Sony has officially announced Killzone 3.
The third chapter of the series will pick up where the second game left off. Sony is promising “levels ten times bigger than in Killzone 2, this is Helghan like you've never seen it before."
“New toys” were mentioned, as were new “jetpack troopers.” If yesterday’s leak is accurate, then these new toys will include jetpacks that players will be able to pilot.
Sony has also confirmed that the game will be fully 3D compatible, and will feature “enemies wielding portable weapons of mass destruction.” The prospect of jetpack combat in full 3D is pretty exciting.
Another leaked infobyte doing the rounds is that there will be missions that take player in snow covered terrain.
No release date has been confirmed, although I will bet my Sixaxis controller that Sony will reveal a date at E3 next month, and that we will see Killzone 3 before the end of the year.
