Hi EAE

You may /may not no that major retail chains including Woolworths and Pick n Pay are boycotting the sale of Playboy South Africa in the shops due to offensive nature.

If any of you male or female have read a Playboy magazine, it is tasteful and informative. I have become a Playboy South Africa ambassador and am willing to sell Playboy to the masses in my area, if you know of anyone interested in ordering from me then let me know :

• The world’s best-known and most iconic magazine.
• The world’s best-selling men’s magazine.
• Started in 1953, now in its 58th year.
• Sold in 30 countries across the world.
• Read by 15 million people monthly.
• Published the original fiction of more Nobel Prize winners than any other magazine.
• Regularly interviews the most important people of every generation, including statesmen, celebrities, Hollywood stars and famous sportspeople. Who else can boast interviews with Muhammed Ali, Princess Grace, Elton John, Barbara Streisand, Charlize Theron, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Oliver Stone, Don King, Yasser Arafat, Robert De Niro, Jimmy Carter, Tom Hanks, Steve Jobs, Donald Trump, and a list that just goes on and on?
• An important advocate for freedom of speech, also now in South Africa at a time when our Government is proposing their restrictive Protection of Information Bill.
• Stood side-by-side with hard core feminists fighting for the reproductive rights of women – the right to use the Pill.
• Intelligently written for the men who break and make the rules in every generation.
• Equally enjoyed by women as by men.
• PLAYBOY South Africa is the first international PLAYBOY edition to discard the word “girls” and replace it with the more respectful “women.”
• PLAYBOY South Africa is the first international PLAYBOY edition to publish in three languages, when the August 2011 edition included Afrikaans and isiZulu.
• Recent South African editions featured, among others, Herschelle Gibbs, Christina Storm, Andre P Brink, Gareth Cliff, The Parlotones, Kenny Kunene, Zakes Mda, Chrystal Arnold, Steve Hofmeyer, Sean Combs, Zapiro, Tracy McGregor, David Bullard, Deon Maas and of course, Hugh Hefner.

informative?? only if you dont know what a clit looks like....

who reads these mags?? look at pics. no reading done! EVER!!!

and quite honestly, i dont think chain stores should sell it. societies moral standards are dropping and porn has become way to easy to access. i rate it time we make it difficult again. if you want it you must go look for it.

Dude these mags have always been in CNA, EB and every corner cafe and for easy access look no further than google. . .

But the thing is if you do not want to look at it don't buy it. This is the main gripe I have with society and it's standards, this lifestyle is wrong and this is right - nobody forces you to do anything (well maybe not that true), but I can choose whether to buy Playboy or NAG. And someone shouldn't be condemned for their choice of entertainment because i get rip-roaring drunk whenever the Cheetahs play, but that is more acceptable than getting stoned - which I don't agree with but both forms are equally destructive substances..

Soz for rant

ok i think you miss read me a bit. Its way to accessible for youngsters. I take my hat off to chain stores who refuse to sell it. i know cna etc keep it but i wouldnt mind they all do what pick n pay etc do. i know there is the net but then it is up to parents to safeguard their pc's against it.

when you become old enough then its your choice, but lets use your smoking and drinking example. weed is illegal yet some still do it, but far less do it than if it were legal. so point is there more difficult it is to access these immoral things the better it is for society. yes, it will always be there and yes if you want it you can get it, but maybe you manage just to save one person from being enslaved to immorality by making it harder to obtain.

Fair point, as you can see I'm more at ends with one destructive thing is OK but the other isn't.

Kids shouldn't have access to porn, but that is a failing on the parents fault - not the industry imho because the mags have plastic covers so you can't read in shop and the websites ask if you are above 18 - nothing more I think they can do. I hate it when there are pornographic banner ads, like I would be derping around and this image of "young russian girls dying to meet you" and she is butt naked then my mom walks in. . .

Do you know what also sucks, Insanity is gonna jump on this bandwagon now, the FB ads, coz they see I'm single so everypage has young hot SA girls who want to meet me, then when I block the ad, they replace it by an ad based off of my interests. . . I just don't want to be sold anything!

I have to add my 2 cents here...
Only readers of SA Playboy have room to comment
If you have ever read / looked at the mag you would no that there is harder porn in a bad etv midnight movie!
The most you will get is 3 different women's sets of boobs... There is no vag / clit etc etc
And as a woman, I buy and do read Playboy and the articles are freaking awesome! Iconic people and in depth interviews paired with good titties! You guys carry on on this website about bouncies this and bouncies that and have no problem oogling the bouncies thread. Here you have people putting it tastefully (And it is tasteful) in a magazine and suddenly the need to jump onto the moral bandwagon arises???

So Pick n Pay and Woolworths wont stock it... But they will stock FHM / Cosmo? Have you read or looked at some of the ads or pics in those magazines??? At the end of the day, it is about choice. You do not have to buy it knowing it is there, the same way you do not have to buy that tub of ice cream when you are on a diet. And if you cannot withstand the temptation then the fault is your own and no one else's.

As for protecting children from buying it, protection and education starts in the home. If your kids listen to you and you tell them not to buy it, they wont buy it??? Or you can be like me and be open about what you read.

My Playboys are my coffee table collection and EVERY visitor in my home always without fail picks one up and reads it and realises that it is not the smut that it is made out to be, it is nowhere near a Hustler or a Scope magazine that you find people perusing in the darkest corner of their nearest CNA.

Anyway, just thought I would add that... At the end of the day it is personal choice - read / dont read Smile Whatever...

i sort of agree, but totally disagree.

tasteful porn does not make it right.
no matter how good a parent you are and no matter what you tell them to do or not do, they will experiment and try naughty things. its human nature.
FHM/Cosmo do not show nipple, so no matter how distasteful you say it is, it is not porn. Porn is of a sexual nature. bouncies thread leaves plenty to the imagination.
Pornography or porn is the portrayal of explicit sexual subject matter for the purposes of sexual arousal and erotic satisfaction.

as for being open with your kids, well that is for each parent to decide how they will raise their kids and there's no wrong or right way of doing. i do wish every mother and father out there well. i will say this though, look at America and how open american families are. and you will also notice some very dangerous trends and some alarming stuff. eg 1: they have one of the highest broken family rates etc etc. Brits are another lot you can look at, i was there and saw first hand how wild those pom kids are. sex at primary school, babies at 14, hooligans at soccer matches, drinking from 14. i think if we cut the exposure to these things it would go a long way to making society more moral. sex, fighting, drinking is everywhere, from mags, to soaps, to newspapers, to tv.

point is there is a fine line we walk.

I side with Shevy and share her point of view of that you can't blame the media or society for all this debauchery. people have free will and can make choices and must just have to live with the repercussions of there actions.

people that have no self control or common sense reap what they sow.

something i have noticed from seeing american shows and media as well from discussing with friends that have actual visited the states is the fact that teenagers look like late 20year olds or even 30. Is it something in the food that these people eat!

sorry just a weird thing i have noticed

i think its all the Mac D's!!! hahaha

its all the hormones in the food. plus the make up and cloths they wear. UK is the same.

14 yr olds wearing skirts so short their fluff sticks out!! and then they cry when they get raped because men cant control themselves.. maybe if they dressed decent they wouldn't provoke those actions?? again this is a fine line because decent men wouldnt rape, but the world is full of bad people, so dont draw attention to yourself.
