LOS ANGELES — Andy Whitfield, who played the title role in the hit cable series "Spartacus: Blood and Sand," has died at age 39, according to representatives and family.

Whitfield died Sunday in Sydney, Australia, 18 months after he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, manager Sam Maydew told the Associated Press.

that guys was awesome, had so much going for him and such an awesome oke

even saw him partake in a freddie wong movie to be humble enough to work for a semi amatuer director after being such success says a lot about the person he was.

Haven't watched this series yet so can't comment on his acting, but cancer took my aunt's life in February after a 3 month battle so I know it's a tough thing to deal with.

I just heard a chick i knew in LE died last month from leukemia 6 weeks from when seh was diagnosed till she past ... she was 20 years old scary sh!t

Ja cancer is a scary disease - some forms we have a cure for and others you die within 6 months. . .
