My contract is expiring soon so upgrade for me!!!!

I've narrowed it down to Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S and Samsung Galaxy Note.

I have done the specs comparison on GSM Arena already and the Samsung wins hands down. However its not always about specs.

If anyone has one of these phones or knows someone who had experience with them, let me know. I will take others ppls opinions into consideration when deciding between the two.

Dude Sony Ericsson all the way that Samsung is huge (won't fit in any pockets)

Cell C wouldn't give me a data package with a Sony phone otherwise I would've taken one.

I still have a Samsung Wave phone which is cool, but like I said I wouldn't hesitate to change back to SE!

Im a sony fan too.

K800i then K850i then C902 (the C902 was a mistake).

I just love the photo quality of the sony, but samsung caught up and i like the Note for its display size, problem though is pocket space.

That I think is the only question - go to vodacom and ask them if you can hold it, if you like it then go for it.
Samsung have got some of the coolest touch screen features slide to dial and slide to text, but you have to hold that phone to make a good judgement, my mom got the galaxy II and that phone is very thin (I love thin phones) she dropped it and the screen cracked with no insurance - it would be R2500 to fix so make sure you get a cover and insurance on the thing!

Sorry to say sony has always been a good and reliable phone but with the current market we have an undoubted winner and thats samsung... Samsung are the only one technology wise and software wise that can actually keep up with iphone

I'm a galaxy fan, its a great phone.
The Note is a bit big though, maybe just a bit to big

Oh and Samsung battery life sucks
3 days on a charge max, normally 2.5 days, but then again that includes some online time, checking emails etc.
Don't know if the Note is any better

My wave lasted 4 to 5 days and I'm on the phone quite a bit with my job!

i can just sticth bigger pockets and the problem will be solved. will need a blue tooth head set so i dont look like a douche talking into a mini tablet PC.

Bluetooth headset and not-looking-like-a-douche doesn't go together!

If you have dstv they have Comedy Central now and on sunday nights they show trigger happy tv, it's a hidden camera show (which I normally hate - same lame joke to lots of different people) which is really funny and they show one prank, maybe two if it's short, then move on to the next one!
